Up until Friday I was using a Canon T2i. I had finally figured out the basics of lightroom 4.4. I just got a Canon 70D my first brand new camera. and by coincidence my Tamron 150-600mm lens that i Have been waiting for since March showed up. I went out and shot a bunch of photos even a couple I can keep. My problem is I cant get any of them to load on lightroom. My camera is set to shoot Raw jpeg the jpeg is the second symbol on the jpeg menu its the only one that is blue. Other than that i think that every thing is the same. does any one know if their are any u-tube videos to walk me through the set-up. the only ones I can find start after the photos are imported from the camera. can anyone help.
Thanks HJB.

These might help - they are about setting up file import / catalogs / moving and copying files / raw and jpeg ...

The first two have a difference in opinion on DNG but the rest of it is pretty good info...

I haven't checked, but you may have to convert your raw images first to dng if your current version of camera raw doesn't support your camera. What os are you using.

All that happens after lightroom recognizes the memory card.
in my case light room does not recognize that the card is in the computer. But it stil works with the T2i.

Your LR version is much older than your camera, it will not read the CR2 files but should still read and edit the JPG files from it. Time to upgrade to do RAW processing or convert to generic DNG files for editing.

I don't think LR 4.4 is going to import photos from you new camera. One of the things Adobe changes in each newer version of LR is adding profiles for the latest cameras and new RAW formats. LR is now up to something like 5.4 or maybe higher. Not to worry though, if 4.4 won't do it for you, you may be able to get LR 5.x for somewhere around $59 to $79 at this point. I got mine at B&H for $59 about 6 months ago. I don't know what it is now.
