I rec info re Nikon schools. They are held everywhere but SW Fl. They are in Ft. Laud or Miami. But never SW Fl.
I'm reffering to the area between Sarasota and Naples. What are we "chopped Liver" ?
No amount of calling/ talking to the home office works.
Any ideas how to get these people to get into the 21st century ??
Thanks

Don't feel so bad. At least they come to your state. They don't even come to KS. :thumbdown:

If there were reasons to do so, the Nikon school would be held where you desire. It would seem the reasons are not strong enough. "Zoom" with your automobile.

The schools are limited and held in major population areas. Many people have to drive upwards of 500 miles to attend so feel lucky they have any in your state at all.
If you are interested in going but worried about the cost/benefit tradeoff, let me say that I attended two (Introduction to Digital SLR Photography and Nikon School Next Steps in Digital Photography: Color, Light, Technology) on a Sat and Sun. Both were very good. What kept the two days from being "excellent" was that there is no hands on component--it's all a "lecture" environment, but good information by great photographers. The added bonus was that Nikon had a table where you could handle their gear and ask questions of a couple of knowledgeable reps. All in all, worth the trip I had to take.
doduce, where did you attend?

Almost everyone lives "too far" from any course that is being given. If you think the course is important for you drive or fly. These events are placed where they hope to get the most people attending. They base that on many factors, such as population, income, and camera purchases.
There are thousands of free instructional resources available online.
I attended a two-day Nikon School in the 1970s. I think the cost was $50. I drove three hours to get there and stayed with relatives. Excellent experience.
Try a local Photographer Club some of them offer classes or the local College or Junior College. I have the same problem as I live in SW Florida and I do not think they understand how many Photographers there are on this side of Florida, much less the amount of money we spend on Nikon Equipment and most people never send in the registration cards or go online to do anything after they purchase the camera.

Sarasota, here. We have an active camera club (Lakewood Ranch Digital Photography Club;
www.facebook.com/lwrdpc) and I feel certain a majority of our members would welcome Nikon here.

Do you still have the Nikon F tie clasp from the Class?
