Hi. I'm looking to buy a large format camera. 4x5 or larger. If you hear of anything over the next month or so, let me know, please.

Thanks!

I assume you're referring to a film camera; if not, a digital body in a 4x5 format is going to run you somewhere in the neighborhood of what a new BMW would.

I haven't used a 4x5 film camera since I sold my Crown Graphic, about 1960 or so; it was pretty expensive to operate then; I'm guessing it would be even worse now!

BTW........if you think buying 4x5 film is expensive, try buying some 5X7! Seriously, it would be hard to imagine anything that would require more resolution than is available with 4X5 format.

Gitzo, yes, film. I should have mentioned that. $x5 is my preferred choice, but 8x10 would also work.
As far as E-bay, buying stuff like a large format camera sight-unseen is always a little nerve-wracking.

I have a Toyo 4 X 5 you might be interested in. I hadn't been considering selling it until I read your post. I have been looking at a Sony digital and the sale would help with that purchase. There are, I think 10 film holders I would want to sell with it if possible and a couple of lenses. Let me know if you are interested.

On ebay, just make sure that the seller has a good feedback score and has a return policy. Do not EVER purchase anything unless the seller will take it back for whatever reason.
This will assure you that you're not getting a piece of crap that someone found at a garage or estate sale.
I learned this the hard way when I first started buying and selling on ebay.

If you are planning on doing your own b&w printing and are in need of an enlarger that will handle the 4x5 negatives I have a Simmon-Omega D2V with a 4x5 negative carrier and the appropriate Schneider-Componon lenses. Let me know if you're interested.

have a Pentax 67, with a 55mm, 105mm and a 200mm prime lens. Also have a Novaflex EF converter. Lenses will work on any of the Canon EF digital camera's. The shutter count on the Pentax camera would be less than 300. Condition excellent. Been in my camera closet since 90's.
