Photographed at the Philadelphia Flower Show. It is considered the "largest indoor flower show in the world."

Both are beautiful, Bmac!

I like the soft focus on the bottom of #1, love the lighting and backgrounds on both.

Is #2 leaning, or optical illusion? :)

Flower shows, in my opinion, are hard to shoot. Getting the right angle, the lighting and, often a good photographic setting is frustrating. And of course, being blocked or jostled by some one with a point-and-shoot is to be expected.
These are great Bmac considering the above. You are a tolerant and positive man.

Pierre

Very well done, Bmac! You did a great job with both, although I don't care much for the arrangement in number one. That's hardly your fault, is it? Number two I find extremely appealing. The mix of colors, shapes, and flowers is perfect. The lighting is fantastic, the roses absolutely glow! Great job with both, but number two is outstanding.

Thanks Linda. Not sure if #2 is leaning but to me #1 looks like it is tilted to the right. 8-)

I agree with you Pierre, they are hard to photograph for the reasons you mentioned. I usually go to the Philadelphia show every year, mainly because my wife and another couple we travel with enjoy it so much. Personally, I'd rather photograph flowers outside or in an arboretum greenhouse. Each year I try to use a different lens or camera and have found my most successful images were taken with a DSLR using a 50mm prime lens. This year I photographed with the SX50 exclusively.

I do tend to be patient and have found that I enjoy "taking" photographs now more than viewing and post processing them afterward. Odd, I know, and it's probably why I am so far behind in my editing. The good news is I do not take an overwhelming number of pictures but try and give some thought to the ones I do take, so when I delete them they are better quality "deletions." :-D

As for being tolerant.....well, whenever I want to test my limit of tolerance I simply stroll over to the Chit-Chat section.

Sorry for rambling Pierre and thank you for your always appreciated comments. 8-)

Thanks Randy. Actually, I prefer the arrangement in number one over the second. Must be my quirky nature. :D
I can't take credit for the lighting but I can for the glowing roses.....a bit of post processing.

Thanks Rlaugh. When I scanned #2 from the catalog I was not sure how it would look posted on the forum. Not bad eh? :?

Just kidding, just kidding.
