Hi All.
I received an email today that has Topaz Adjust 5 for 50% off.
I was wondering if anyone used it and what their opinion is of it.
Also do you use it instead of NX2 or Lightroom or do you do basic
processing and then use it?
Thanks for your opinions and help.
Brian

I don't have it, but just wanted to point out that you must use the code AUGADJUST in the coupon section; then the price will uh, adjust :)

I use Topaz adjust under the filters in PSCs6. It all depends what detail you want in your post processing.

I just purchased it today. Looks like you should make adjustments in LR (or Photoshop), then go to Topaz Adjust to give it a little tweek. I tried processing a photo that was way too dark in Topaz Adjust, but it couldn't handle it. I went to LR, made my basic adjustments, then went into Topaz Adjust to play. Planning to take tutorials they provide to grasp the details. But for $24.99, what's the worst that can happen??? The references in the ad were good for me. I have seen work done by Trey Ratcliff that he used Topaz Adjust on and I liked it. So good luck to us all!

It works best to do most your basic editing in Lightroom first, then take the photo into Adjust for its special touches. All filters (topaz included) can make photos noisier, so you might find that you need to do some noise reduction in LR before taking it to Topaz. Experimenting will tell you whether this is so for your photos. Filters are a lot of fun.

Right On I will also use Topaz Denoise to get rid of noise

I use it and Topaz Detail but only for architectural renderings (to make my photos look like actual pen and marker renderings). I do not find it very useful for regular photos. For 14 years I created renderings by hand and it took me days, now with a camera it takes me about 25 minutes to get the same effect.

Picasa is not mentioned as a compatible host for Topaz. How do you access?

I own, and use it quite often. I use it as a plug-in from LR and PSE and am very pleased with what it does.

I use and like several Topaz apps. Topaz frequently has 50% discounts on modules. The "AUGADJUST" will also give you a $25 discount on the Complete Collection. I've seen Complete Collection, or similar, for about $200 at the annual MacWorld show in San Francisco. If you already have about two modules, you can upgrade to the Complete Collection for a substantial discount. Like Lightroom, Photoshop, etc., Topaz has lots of features, works well, has a learning curve, and many tutorials.

I'd be interested to see the rendering effects you are achieving. Care to post one or two before-and-after examples?

Just bought Topaz adjust on special offer. Needs very carefull use on the sliders, just like 'Detail'.. OTT results are all too easily made. A little practice should improve my thoughts on the programmes.
