Has anyone purchased a camera from 42nd St Photo? They have a canon D6 for 1,399.00, Is this a gray market camera?

Call them and ask. If it's new it probably is Gray Market.

If it doesn't say, "USA warranty", it's a good bet that it's gray market.

Search 42nd Street Photo and you will have your answer.

There's a reason it has a low price, the money you save, you pay in frustration.

Definitely grey market as 42nd St. Photo is not an authorized retailer for any camera gear. They buy on the Asian wholesale market in container quantity and resell those goods in the USA.

Chances are they won't have it in stock after you pay for it... They did this to me a few years ago. It was heel getting my money back.

I know one customer who ordered the "body only", that's just exactly what she got, a bare body. By the time she got the battery, charger, strap, cables, manual ands quick start guide she ended up paying $350 more than if she had just paid regular retail. And then she found out she STILL had a grey market body!!

As I was reading this post on the top banner the 6D was being advertised for 1069.00 from the digitalpros or something like that. Bite the bullet and look at Canon refurbished - they come with a full waranty.
