Fire Spinning

Our photography meetup group arranged for a fire spinner to come to our last meetup. These are the best shots I got. We had to have somewhat long exposure, tripods and shutter release. I do like the effect though!

Very nice. It can be tough getting a good shot of something like that. Good job!

You can attach a piece of steel wool to something (rope, stick, et.), light it, and then spin it around.

Excellent shots roxiemarty.....do you mind if I ask what settings you used? I have been trying to improve my fire and LED night shots, and would appreciate any info you feel like sharing.....Thanks!!

ISO500, 2.8, times from 1/2 second to 1 second,in AV setting. Thanks, alot of trial and error, great fun!

I think they're great! I especially like the third one. The spinner is framed almost perfectly by the solid line, with only a few, little sparks appearing inside the circle.
