Had a church picnic today that the church ask me to take some pictures at, well, it rained. :) So, what do I do after that as long as the camera and I are already wet? Go to the nearby State Park and keep shooting. :)
Camera: Nikon D700 - Lens: Nikon 70-300 f4.5-5.6 ED VR - a rain-proof combo. The first one is at ISO 1600 the rest are at ISO 800. If you look at the stored originals you can see the raindrops in the pictures. :)

Hi John. Nice pictures. You sure did good with the lighting. Very nice. Rain has never stopped me either. I don't know if that makes us goofy or not.:):)

Thanks Erv. There are probably more that a few people that think I,m goofy. ;) Like the park people that thought I wouldn't be getting very good pictures today. :) Most people give me a funny look when I am out in the rain with a camera... I had to tell more than a dozen people at the church picnic that my rig was rain proof. They don't know what they are missing, right Erv? :)

The D300s is a real rain hog.:) We went to Oregon 2 years ago and I think it rained every day.:) I had a blast. Got a little wet. But some nice shots!

Nice work. More of us should be out and about in less than perfect conditions. We need help from the manufacturers with better weather sealing at lower cost. Yes I know you can buy covers but it's not the same. Pentax seem to have the idea.

I think my D300 has been rained on 6 times and my D700 now twice. Never any harm to them, one just has to remember to use a new weather sealed lens with it and not an old one that's not. :)
Have you posted your soggy Oregon shot Erv?

Thanks for the kind remarks Linda! A rain shoot is a nice change of pace... occasionally... :)

Thanks for looking and commenting! I appreciate it.
There are a number of waterproof point-n-shoots out there that are not to expensive and give reasonably good results. You can see the results on dpreview of four cameras they tested at: http://www.dpreview.com/articles/2491269399/2014-waterproof-camera-roundup
I actually own a Nikonos 5 in orange that I got years ago as an all weather camera. Only used it a few times, not even sure why I got it other that it was barely used at a great price. :)

I did John.If you can't find them let me know I will PM you a link. That was 3 years ago I think. We were out there again last year for a wedding. But the weather was beautiful. Put a lot of miles on the rental cars both times.:):)

Thank you FrodoBaggins for the kind comments. Kind of a synergy between flowers past their prime and a fence that could use some paint and the rain. :) I just liked it from an artsy perspective.

One must look at the downloads to get the full effect the thumbnails just don't cut it with these. :)
