Looking at the latest issue of Modern Photography I started to get a sensation of severe abdominal pain and bloating and then, all of a sudden, with a not so delicate whiff of air I realized that I was having another GAS attack. This time in the form of ultra wide lenses. There was an advertisement for the Rokinon 8mm which after reading it and then doing some quick research I also discovered the Lensbaby 5.8. I like the fact that they both can be used on a full frame body and that you get a circular picture. I also realize that they are manual lenses. My question is does any of you Hogs have experience with either or both of these lenses and what is your opinion of them both for use on crop and FF bodies. I would be using them on my Canons. By the way, the ultra wide Canon L zoom lens is not even a consideration so comparisons to that lens is not needed. I do have the 10-18 STM and the 10-22 EF-S but they are both only for crop cameras and really don't give me the 180° effect that I would like and cannot be used on my 6D.
B&H sells both of those lenses and there are quite a number of customer reviews for both. Perhaps they could tell you what you want to know.
Canon makes a 8-15 f/4L fisheye ...
Have a look at LensRentals.com. You can rent any of these ideas you requested input from others. My own experience is I rarely go wider than 20mm on my 17-40. These wider lenses are a much different animal. More than once I've used a rental as a way to prove or disprove a 'need' for a specific lens.
Dixiegirl has a Lensbaby. You might PM her.
First your 6D will make a 10mm into a 16mm. Then consider at below 17 mm the pictures start to distort. Nothing wrong with that but just so you know befor you spend money on a lens.

The 6D is a full frame, not a crop sensor, and not even a crop sensor will turn a 10mm into a 16mm. It merely changes the viewing perspective. Focal length remains unchanged.

I have the Rokinon 8 mm lens for Nikon and use it on DX cameras. In short this lens is a giveaway, you can buy it for 2-300$ new and it delivers pictures that you would have to buy a $5000 lens to get before Samyang made this lens. I highly recommend it.

I use the Rokinon 14mm prime for astrophotography, and it's quite good value for the money.
