Shot a midge and one Damselfly. Not many insects out today. The few that were only offered overhead shots and I just wasn't in the mood for that. Lot's of butterflies but I had the MP-E so I wasn't going to play the sneak up to the butterfly and get a head shot game. A couple midges did come out to play though.

Midge at 2:1 mag exceeds DoF a bit. I do like image #3.

Agreed and that's a two frame stack... Next time I'll go for three. Thanks for the comments...

All great but I really like The Midge @ 2:1. The detail on the tip of the abdomen is outstanding.

i enjoy your shots cause they usually show how the critters are constructed.
The damsel was no exception though from the look of those ball joints at the wing root it has some miles on it.

Come on William, two   and best. All are great, each with it's own merits, that makes it hard to decide which I like the mostest  :D
I'll even throw in another  :D

Thanks Ron. Funny you should mention mileage on on the ball joints. I was watching some damsels last weekend and I wondered how many miles and flight hours these little aviators put in. Tried Googling it but no factoids turned up.
