PATTERNS IN THE ROAD

On a short walk today, down our road it struck me that the patterns of the winter cracks had made the road look like old cobblestones of days gone by.
I then looked at the tar repairs done by the road menders previously and I am sure some of them are artists because I can't think that the patterns are actual road cracks. What do you think?

When water gets in those cracks (the last pic) and you get a freeze, that road is going to be a nightmare with the freeze heave. Great pics but someone needs to do some serious paving work here.
