I found this expired subject on a flower out in the field earlier this year. Stinger was still there so not sure what it died from. Popped it in the freezer until I had a chance to photograph it. It was still pliable so I set it with pins, let it set overnight, and photographed it

The hairs really turned out Great. No overlaps from the forward hair. What was your aperture and movement on your rail? Zerene for this one? Hope to see more on the future..

Damn good! Enlargement is phenomenal. Canon might have an interest in using this image.

Thanks Martin. Rig is finally rock solid and square. I didn't have to edit out any halos on this stack. Did have to clean up a few dust spots though... SHot at f5.6 with .05mm steps. I hope to do more now that the rig is finely tuned. Found a dead Cicada in the bed of my truck last week so it's next on the rig.

Thank you Douglass, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'll have to see if Canon has a site to upload photos.

Editing the halos out takes all the fun out of stacking. Glad you've fine tuned your rig. Any chance you'll play with different colored backgrounds?

Very very nice. You have got it down to a science. What stacking software?

That is a great photograph. It sure looks alive to me. Can you tell me what the, "eye", looking thing is right in the middle of its forehead. I know it isn't the eye(s) which of course are on the side of its head.

Dennis
