I shot 5 pics overlooking city and would like to put them together into one panoramic scene for an enlarged photo to hang in a lobby. I shot them on a tripod and I got them lined up pretty good but they still need a slight amount of cropping to fit perfect. I do not know photoshop. So is there a service out there that can put this together for me? Thanks, Tim

Hi Tim, Canon has some software that is called Zoom Browser. It can photo stitch and create slide shows. There is a host of other photo stitching software out there that is free. Look on snapfiles. com for some free stuff. Most suggest that you overlap the photos by about a third when you take them to allow for better alignment. Most also blend the photos together. I hope this helped some. Good luck.

google Panaroma Plus. Serif has a free version they allow for doing this very thing.

It gives a crop tool as well.

Good suggestion about checking what is available on the cd that came with the camera. It is interesting how little folks pay attention to just what they recieved free.

Microsoft ICE is a free program that does better than any I've tried. Consistently makes good matches at overlap points.

In the programs for stitching I have used, after the photo is stitched, you go into crop and even out the top and bottom to eliminate the problem you described.

Gosh Tim, I'll go along with Jim. I'll do it for ya. I'll even take it a step further and turn it into a "planet" for ya if the file lends itself to it. Do you have pretty good overlap?

I use Photovista Panorama 3.0, they have a free trial software download you can try at: http://www.tucows.com/preview/286490/Photovista-Panorama.

Hi Barry,

What software did you use to get this 'planet' effect? Really cool! :-P

I used PhotoShop CS5. It's really quite simple. I'll talk you through it. First you assemble a panorama (do that in PhotoShop too...thats old news though), then go to Image>Flip Vertically. Flipping the image up-side-down is a must. Then go to Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates.

You have to experiment with the images for best results and there is almost always a few touch ups to do. You can do it with anything.
