I had my sister-in-law over for a party. She has a Canon film camera and wants to upgrade to digital....
She was so impressed with my D3100 she wants it. I'll sell it to her so I can get the D7100.....
Camon Nikon,....lets get it together.....

I would recommend she stay with Canon as her lenses(?) should be
compatible. Not because one is better than other. I used to tell
people to consider the same brand as their friends so they could
borrow equipment.

Is she invested in Canon lenses? Does she have easy access to Canon lenses?

If so, I recommend she stay with Canon. If not, your plan benefits both or you.

Na,.. she has no investment in canon......We have another convert here.
She shot about 81 images at my wifes birthday party today. She's a natural, Nikonian....She's been shooting film for years and is looking foward to a Nikon digital. I showed her the basics of the D3100 and she went "nuts" with it.
She shot 81 images in no time. My sis in law ,...Valerie, is very good at the rule of thirds, too.
She is long overdue for a Nikon DSLR.....She is a better photographer than I ever will be. Damn she is good at composing a shot....!

Mpete, I have found that trying to convert or recommend someone to Canon over Nikon, it akin to trying to convert a Liberal to the more standard Conservitive way of life....
Such is life......... ;)
