There are a lot of gators in my neck of the woods, but I prefer them blackened or in a gumbo as opposed to staring me in the face.

Not long enough... I would think it needs a 600 mm lens with a 2x extender minimum plus a window mount bracket!
Good shot!

What do you think the easiest animal to snap in a picture is?
A snail. They are friendly, do not charge high modeling fees and will pose happily for long periods of time.

I was thinking a slug myself.
A banana slug like is common to the California Redwoods.

The problem with slugs is their lousy attitude. For some reason they never will pass me the salt during a photo break lunch. :|

Earl, the Flat Cat. But, if you want something alive, it's probably a crow. On Telegraph Hill in San Francisco, it's the 70", 200 lb., male, tourist, either the "what exposure y'all using", "get outa my way so I can shood a pitcha" or " I'm gonna step right in front of tour camera/lens/tripod because I'm more important than you" variety. Beware, both are constrictors and will suck the patience right out out of you. S'funny, I don't ofter directly encounter the "I'll move in front of you because I'm bigger than you" species, but I occasionally see and speak to one preying on an older or smaller person, although such encounters are usually very brief. 8-) 8-) 8-)
Nah, blonds. Unless they agree to be photographed, they are are always primping and moving. :)
The one in your viewfinder at that time!
