Yesterday we went hiking and rock climbing in New Mexico at Three Rivers Petroglyph site. I took alot of good photos with my 50D, but am not home with my computer, so these will have to do until then. I will post more from my " real" camera in a week or so. This tablets' camera is a 5 megapixel, no features. The petroglyphs are over 600 years old.
petroglyphs with Sacramento Mountains
more petroglyphs
jackrabbit? petroglyph
bird petroglyph
my husband took this one, thats me!
One of my favorite pastimes - hunting down petroglyphs. It's primitive art at its best.

Interesting shots! (Must be some distant relative of mine, since no one in my family can draw!) :-)
Looking forward to more.

I love petroglyphs, I look forward to your next segment!
Very interesting petroglyphs.
Reminds me when I took a fella out in the Quartzsite AZ area one time, he asked me what that said. I just looked him real serious and replied. " McDonnalds 16 Miles that way" Walmarts 92 miles that way" LOL.

Thanks, Bill! I would love to go back to Arizona. Not done with the Grand Canyon, yet. I haven't seen the petroglyphs there yet either.
If your working your way west, towards Vagas, Take SR95 south towards Searchlight. South of Searchlight to Route 163 East. You will pass Dripping Spring on your Left it will be the Next Left "Moss Spring". You can park with a few 100 yards of the site. Your going to have to ask someone, but there is a canyon named Christmas Pass. You will find Hundreds of Petroglyphs dated over 2000 years of age, some are 5 feet height. Bring your long lens because some are up on the Cliffs over looking the pass. I wouldn't recommend climbing them this time of year because of snakes. But it was a great spot.
