I have printed a many 17"x 38" on my 3880 pro, with the 4900 you have no restriction in length, so I think you can print to any length you desire (it should be a pano an not a single file though).

The 70D produces 5400x3600 images, so 300ppi is 12x18" and 200ppi is 18x27".

Yes, a lower ppi (pixels per inch) is lower IQ, but both 300ppi and 200ppi are very good.

Keep in mind, the larger the print- the farther away your viewers may stand.
Of course, there will always be those people who want to get a real close look.
For them you my want to get some of THESE.

Billboards look like crap up close.

Yes. Some cameras make them internally and others require you to make take several pictures and "stich" them together with software.

Yes , that is what I meant, as a panorama is made with several files (meaning you can go waaayy bigger than with just a single file).

Yep! I have a 48 inch panorama made with 4 frames from a 12mp Nikon D300.
If you can stitch, it makes for a much higher resolution print.
It's best to shoot with the camera in a vertical orientation when the final output is a horizontal panorama.
In-camera works but the best results are if you do it yourself from raw files.
