I have printed a many 17"x 38" on my 3880 pro, with the 4900 you have no restriction in length, so I think you can print to any length you desire (it should be a pano an not a single file though).

Keep in mind, the larger the print- the farther away your viewers may stand. Of course, there will always be those people who want to get a real close look. For them you my want to get some of THESE.

Yes , that is what I meant, as a panorama is made with several files (meaning you can go waaayy bigger than with just a single file).

Yep! I have a 48 inch panorama made with 4 frames from a 12mp Nikon D300. If you can stitch, it makes for a much higher resolution print. It's best to shoot with the camera in a vertical orientation when the final output is a horizontal panorama. In-camera works but the best results are if you do it yourself from raw files.
