Nice photo. Did you have to use a tripod? I notice that the dof is quite limited. Tough to get critters that like to move around when your dof is that limited. Nice shot.

Thanks Erich. No, I didn't use a tripod and between the long focal length, distance to subject and......purposely blurring elements surronding the subject, depth of field is narrow. 8-)

Thank you very much Erv. Sorry you do not have many butterflies up your way, but you also do not have the sky high taxes I have. ;) :D

Nicely done. I notice you indicate 'equivalent focal length' so what camera were you using?

Thanks Mrjcall. I used the Canon SX50 for these photographs. 8-)

You have to pay taxes on bugs? :):) I will stay in Ohio. Our bugs might be slim pickings, but they are free.:):):)

No, not all bugs Erv, only butterflies. It seems the wealthy butterflies here were accused of not paying their "fair share" so the cockroaches turned out in mass to vote and elected a few slugs who created the NY Butterfly Tax. With the influx of undocumented termites feeding off the foundation of the city it's unlikely the tax will ever be rescinded. The moths are still untaxed though.......so far.

LOL Very clever analogy, Bmac, and that's all I'm saying except that your pictures of the little skipper are excellent. Skippers aren't still for very long and are hard to shoot.

Nice shot Bmac. Look a bit over-saturated though. Nice detail.

Thanks Bozsik. Yeah, you are probably right about the over saturation. I tend to like bright colors. :D
