Photography has been an off and on hobby of mine for years. I still have an use my old Pentax, there is nothing automatic on this camera. Because digital is the thing now I was able to pick up a wonderful bargin on eBay, a canon rebel 2000. I did go digital with a Fuji Film S5100 its has most of the features of a DSLR but you cannot change the lens on this one. I guess I am going backward here as I recently took some classes at UC Berkeley in B&W darkroom. I do hope the membership will help me as I continue to explore the realms of both film and digital. Thanks all!

Welcome you will find this site to be full of good people and great sdvice. Rember you can get the best of film and digital by shooting film and scanning your images into your computer to do post processing with program like photoshop elements. Learning to develope B+w is actually a good idea as film development at drug stores is getting both more expansive and harder to find. I assume your screename means you are ex navy in the merchant marine own a boat or just like the drink.
