Can't believe I haven't posted this image before as I think it is my best ever Moon shot.
I took it not long after getting my first DSLR, a 1000D back in Feb 2012.
It was attached without a lens or eyepiece to my 1200mm F/6 reflecting telescope.
Shutter speed of 1/25th sec ISO 100
Moon 1200mm F/6 1/25th ISO100

That's spectacular! I've tried and tried to no avail.
Debbie
Thanks Debbie, don't ever give up, keep trying.
I haven't managed to repeat a shot as good as this again, so either I was very lucky with conditions or I was just lucky , either way I keep trying even with the very unpredictable English weather :)
Best I've seen in awhile. You just can't beat the magnification you get with a telescope. Great Job, a real Wowsier.
Thanks james, I agree with not beating a telescope.
How much would a 1200mm F/6 lens cost?
My telescope with clock drive, to match the rotation of the earths spin, tripod and eyepieces was about £600
That's a great photo, would love to do that.
Thank you taffthetooth, it's the reason I bought a DSLR body but as it came as a kit with a lens I started to take normal photographs too and now I am hooked :D

Cheers Irvingite, I plan to get out again in the winter and grab some new images, hopefully closer views
Great shot Izza, it even has color.
