I received my Tamron 160-600mm July 30. I tested it on my D7100 by shooting some birds from by back porch. Time about 5-6 PM.
No post processing was used except to convert from RAW in PS 2014.
The dove was in a shaded area of the yard, hand-held, 1/90 sec, f6.3, 600mm, ISO 400.
The playhouse, in my neighbors yard, two houses down the street, was shot at 1/750 sec, f6.3, 600mm ISO 800, also hand held.
I then cropped the photo of the playhouse to 100% to see the resolution in the clock.
I have only tried the lens once, but I am very pleased with it's focus accuracy, color, build quality, and resolution on my camera.
I see this at B&H for $1,069 back ordered for Canon. On Ebay the prices are a lot higher up to $1500-$1600. Is it the same lens?

Long story. I bought as new from someone who got it from a store in AZ. He sold it to me for what he paid for it.
While it was on order, he bought a 200mm f2. Then the 150-600mm came in. He liked his 200mm better so he sold the 150-600 to me.I received it on the 30th. On the 31th
I got a text from my dealer that the one I ordered was in!! Figures!! I'm sure the next guy in line is happy though.
Does this lens have image stabilization?

yes it does. The dove was hand-held at 1/90 sec at 600mm.
Without VR, suggested minimum hand-held would be 1/600 sec.
Any chance in posting the original size so we can see the detail? Thanks in advance.

Great photos! I ordered this early last month, from B&H, and just received an update that they have "received no word from the manufacturer" as to delivery dates. Guess that's the price for paying $1,069.00. But I can wait. Even Hunt Photo, here in Manchvegas, had no idea when they would receive more, at a higher price.
Now, I'm even more eager top get my hands on this one!
Happy shooting!

Nice to know, I have one on order from B&H. Waiting, waiting...
I shot mine(hand held) at 600mm of person on a boat ad was able to see what was going on on the reflection in his sun glasses.
I ordered mine on June 3rd. From what I gather it is about a 3 month wait. So I'm expecting early Sept to get mine.
I was on a bird walk at a local park about a month ago and a couple from Australia was with the group, and he had one on his 7D. What I saw through the camera, the pictures were great. And he said he was very pleased with its action and highly recommended it.
Hmmmm, except for the waiting, I may have to rethink my position on purchasing this lens....
There is a positive review of this lens in the July issue of Shutterbug----You wouldn't expect a negative one, now would you?
I got mine a few months ago when I got a new Canon 70D from Sammy's. ($1069). Sold my Canon 100-400 to get it. I've commented before that I believe it's a much better lens than the Canon and am glad I made that choice.
After using it very successfully for a few months I sent it back to Tamron along with my walk around 18-270 for firmware updates. They have a terrific service policy on all of their lenses. Both lenses are back, cleaned, "tuned", and are better than ever. Shot handheld with !50-600 at the U S Surfing Open in Huntington Beach yesterday and am blown away with the positive results. Leaving for Turkey & Kenya tomorrow and can't wait to put it to good use on my photo safari.
If you want a terrific value for the $$$$$, buy this lens.
