Last month or so I have noticed that my neck was sore after a shooting. Guessing a year and a half of lugging 5 pounds of gear on the camera neck strap is finally getting to me. Really dont feel like dealing with an arthtrtic neck so I purchased a Cotton Carrier camera vest -
http://www.cottoncarrier.com Took it out for a test spin today. I had to turn the tripod collar to the side as it wont clear the chest plate in the default position Other than that, I'm impressed with it. When properly adjusted weight is transferred to the shoulders and torso. Best off all both hands are free when one is hiking. Probably not needed if one shoots very close to the house or a garden with plenty of spots to park ones butt. A good piece of equipment if your rig has some weight to it and you like to hit the trails.
We had a cool front blow through Thursday night / Friday morning. Cant say I remember one ever blowing through in July/August. Must have spooked the bugs because I didnt see many out today.
I believe this is some sort of horse/deer fly.

Kim Moore (KimsSight) has used one for several months, and is quite pleased with the resulting muscle strain relief.
Oh, yeah. Nice captures.
You just wanted to post a picture of the model Douglass
GREAT shots.
I wear a cotton carrier all the time. I feel a little geeky at times, but I guess that is about right. It saved my neck.
I can't feel sorry for you when you find bugs like these on a 'dead' day. I love the last one in particular although I don't know what it is.
All great pictures and I love the composition.

Thanks Bill. Only had the carrier for two days and I like the relief it has brought to my neck. Took it out on a ~5mile hike today with a ~5.5lb rig and happy to report no strain or pain...
