Jerry: No it will not work with all the functions of the 580EXII

Jerry: I just purchased a couple of new Canon Flashes and had to get the new cords that would operate them correctly. Just as a side note, I purchased my new cords from B&H and they were made by Vello, which is another brand that works with the Canon Flashes. They were quite a bit cheaper than Canon Cords and they work very well with no issues. I hope this helps.

The Canon OC-E3 does work with the 430ex and 580ex.
