When using my brush tool my circle that represents my brush will not get any bigger than 250 px. It use to get bigger when I wanted to increase the brush size. Now it will not go above that. Will someone help me and give me some help. I am sure it is a simple setting that I have overlooked.

The right bracket ] makes it larger and the left bracket [ makes it smaller. Have you tried that?

Are you sure it's 250px. Mine goes to 2500px. Maybe you're just reading it wrong.

It may be the type of brush you've selected. Some brushes cannot be enlarged to a great degree. Select a different brush and see if that works.... Good luck!

On my Macbook pro It is just fine however on my iMac it only goes to 300 px. I have tried the brackets and mine goes to 5000 on the scale, however my brush only goes to 300. I tried typing and the number goes in however my brush circle only goes to 300 px

Are there any photoshop experts out there who can give me some advice on my problem?

You can always try the solution for many stubborn tool problems that seem to originate from nowhere. With the brush tool selected, right-click on the tool's icon in the upper left corner of you screen. From the pop-up menu that appears, select "Reset Tool" to change it back to the Photoshop default settings.

Thanks, now that sounds like the winner. However, I did not have to do that this time because last night when I went to bed I turned off my photoshop and turned off my iMac and this morning it was back to normal. GO FIGURE!!!!!!
Thank's for your suggestion and I will try that next time. This is why I love UH, because all the help I get. We should all try to get together in a giant convention sometime.......... Wow would that be fun
Regards

I believe the answer to this is each brush you select has it's own limits. So try selecting different brushes and you will see in the dialog box the max that brush will go.

I don't know what version of Photoshop you have, but I have Photoshop cc, and I have found that Photoshop is such a large application that sometimes when it is turned on, one or more features may not load correctly, and I have to turn it off and then turn it back on so that it will load correctly. I have had this happen 4 or 5 times so far.

Thanks so much. I think that is what has happened. I turned it off and when I restarted it she seemed fine. I have CS6 by the way and really love it and it is a learning work in progress.
