Aloha from Kona, Hawaii

I own a Nikon D70 but the sensor has severe dust problems, very hard to rid. So now I use a Canon powershot and a Panasonic, both point and shoot. I do miss the clarity of the DSLR but am having fun using my point and shoot cameras. I belong to a garden club and photo club on FB and submit photos daily whenever possible.
Please comment freely as I love learning more about the rights/wrongs of photography.
Mahalo (thankyou)

Aloha, welcome to the forum. There are no true "rights or wrongs", the first person you should please is yourself. Photography, as in all the arts, is completely subjective, which you will quickly find out in this forum. The rules, guidelines, rights, whatever you wish to call them, are designed for the masses. Just have fun, and don't take anything too seriously in here. 8-)

There is no image, so your eyes are fine. 8-)

I'm not a salesman, but a fellow Nikon user. I was having severe dust problems from changing lenses often and got me a little gizmo that helps. I think the bigger problem was the thought of sending my Nikon out to have the dust removed every time it got dirty. This little thing isn't cheap but it works great!

I'm sorry. I guess I was looking for an example, but I guess we all know what dust particles look like. Sorry. I have a nikon D-90, interchange lens on occassion but not experienced these problems. Lucky I guess.

I hear you, about the expense of having your camera professionally cleaned. A suggestion to for those who live in humid climates, keep your camera in an air tight container or humidity controlled room as some tend to develop nasty mold. Thanks for your comment and Aloha :-)
In this photo the ever present vog (volcanic gas) can be seen on the horizon over the water. Taken from my upstairs blacony overlooking Pu'uhonua o Honaunau in Kona, Hawai'i.

I read somewhere that some Nikons (newer models I assume) have a "blow thru" dust bin to aid in cleaning and to keep dust away from the inner workings. Wish mine had this.
