I decided to go all digital after several models of Nikon.

So goes the FM version in black.

It comes with Nikon body plugs.
Look them over, some brassing as we called it and no covers for the sync socket.
$100 paypal shipped

shot a better one

The gold tone on the mount ring is not really that color. I will try to re-shoot that one.

Wow look how small the film cameras were, I long for that for that format in digital. l shoot film now and then myself, using an N80.

You probably don't have to reshoot the 2nd pic. Try adjusting the WB to eliminate that gold cast.

Already tried that. Somehow I got some reflection off of something but too tired to mess with it.

Fixed
Had to play some more. Turned off overhead tungsten light.

Had A selected and using Phong diffuser it was apparently adjusting somewhat on the exposure by adjusting the flash.

More menus to read.

Yea the feel really small.

The F3 with motor drive is skinny but weighs a lot.
I was stronger back then, lol

We all were. That's why I like the micro-4/3 format.

What dig cam did you buy?

Well over time I tried the D70 when it came out, the D200 which I just sold and a D300 which I may keep for awhile.

A couple months ago before a big recital I shoot every year I wanted to up the quality of the performance pictures. They get better every new camera.

I bought a D600 at that time and was real happy with it.
I could still use some ISO noise improvement under stage lighting but it's not bad.

Years ago I was faced with using ASA 1000 film and my F3 and a 300 mm but it looked like a gravel road.

I thought the D800's were too much money for the difference at that time and that they were marketing around killing time and staying in the market until whatever they were really up to got produced.

Ends up being the D810 which I got last Saturday.
I have been selling off my DX lenses and sold the older 80-400 as I got lots of perfectly exposed blurrs while it was focusing.

I already had a first gen VR 70-200 2.8 and will hang on to that for awhile but the 80-400 so far is taking first choice on walk about but I'm going to have to work out lol.

I got a new AFS 80-400, 16-35 and a 24-85 for now.
I basically am starting over and it sure is fun!

I have to say I like the atmosphere for the most part on this forum. More relaxed and seems like some fun people enjoying photography.

I did lots of lurking and finally posted some images.

I decided it might be a fresh place to hang around and post my equipment for sale.
Has been great and off set my latest expenditures.
Already drifting off for sale but, it's supposed to be fun, right?

So if you missed the 60's and 70's equipment get you some!

Great story!

No I didn't miss 60's-70's equipment. The older stuff is certainly simpler.

I ride motorcycles and there is an analogy here. Motorcyclists love the old classic motorcycles, we like to look at them and remember. They bring back memories!

But we have it really good now. We love looking at those old motorcycles but none (very few) of us would trade our modern version for a classic. No way! The modern ones are so much better in so many ways.

I hear that I gave up oil on the garage floor, loud pipes and ape hangers when the Honda 750 came out. Smooth and a wind screen for a trip to Mexico.
Yea having all the gadgets makes life easier, when it works!

I love the new technology! If only Nikon would adopt it. LOL.
