Here are a few photos that I took from the Steple on top of the Historic Courthouse in Stillwater, MN in 2011. They had a FULL ACCESS Open House one day for a limited time so I went with 2 other relatives since we had a family gathering later in the afternoon on the same day in another area of MN.

It was nice to get the opportunity to get this type of tour since it is so rare and I have family history connected directly to this courthouse. My dad's mother's (My Grandmother's) father worked here after he got injured on the railroad. He was a janitor there when she was younger so she used to go there sometimes with him and even help in the summer. That happened during one of the earlier wars so for me this was a special event.

My grandmother on my Dad's site was born there and here dad worked there at the historical courthouse after an accident on the railroad so the town holds a little bit of sentimental value to the family. It was a nice warm day out for the fall time and just beautiful. It was a wonderful trip. I am glad you liked the photos. I do have more from the trip to the courthouse including inside photos.

One quick correction: it's spelled "cupola"-- your version creates an unfortunate image! But the photos are good, and the lift bridge may soon be history.

Thanks for the correction. The lift bridge is not actually going to be torn down as it is listed on the National Registry of Historical Places or Items. A new bridge is going to be built south of it for future travel (hopefully soon) and then the bridge will be used only for pedestrian traffic.
