Of course you are talking just the US. Globally, the time period Nov 2013 to May 2014 was the warmest on record.

To play the game fairly, you should link to an article reporting on 2014 temps, NOT 2012 temps.

The amount of completely contradictory reporting about temperatures by "scientists" leads one to believe that "science" is not terribly reputable these days.

This is ridiculous. Scientists have been speaking with one voice (with very few exceptions, and those are aberrations) on the climate for a decade. Science is reputable. People that "report" it are not sometimes.

But how many times have they been wrong about things in the past?
What makes you think they are right now?

Train, here's how science works:

One scientist proposes an idea.

Every single scientist in the world tries to prove him wrong. The ideas that are not proven wrong become accepted scientific theories.

So.... When you say "they", single scientists have been wrong many times. Large groups of scientists, since the dawn of the scientific method, are rarely wrong.

An overwhelming group of scientists (97%) believe that climate change is real, and that it is caused by man. They came to this conclusion using the scientific method. Their sole purpose was to get at the scientific truth of climate change. I think they did.

You either think you know better than they, or you simply don't understand the science.

Why did they lie and make up 'data' to suit the wanted outcome?

Sometimes you just can't fix stupid.
Weather is different than Climate. When you site a cold day and say that proves there is no global warming, it's the same as going out at night and saying there is no sun.
