Were these shot and processed recently? I have two AE-1 Ps which I have not played with in a very long time. This is tempting me to get the Old School gear out for some fun.

These were taken just a few days ago using a Canon Speedlight 199A for fill. Get your old stuff out and go for it. It makes you consider each shot more carefully and, I believe, leads to better pictures.

I've been shooting my AE-1 alot recently after getting it maintained. And a new battery .... Getting the best film helps too. I'd like to think my technique has improved over the years, but after having scanned a bunch of old negatives, I'm seeing the grade of film makes a difference. Although there's not a '160 ASA' on the AE-1 dial, I personally liked the results from Kodak PORTRA 160, available online from B&H and elsewhere.

I completely agree with more careful. I've started to go out with just a film body, but more typical is to have both on hand, shooting first digital and then coming back with 1 or 2 film shots. It gives me something to compare later. When that 1 on film isn't what I wanted .... at least I have more choices from the digital. I do get that special smile though when the film is as good or better ... "New" equipment or old? I grabbed a copy of a 199A for only $23 from KEH. I like shooting with primes at different lengths than I tend to use digitally. Thanks for posting some ideas!
