I bought a Minolta 4000AF for my A65 and A230 cameras. Does anyone know if this combo will work? Sony does not recommend the 4000AF. One website hinted that it would work.

I believe the hotshoe mount is different so you would need an adaptor at least. At worst the voltage may be different enough to damage the body. I would trust Sony's statement long before I trusted internet "hints".

You can still use it remotely in manual mode, just fire it off with radio triggers, should be a useful flash in that way, and the price is right.
