I just snorkel and use natural light and a Olympus TG-1 with the housing (just so I can adjust camera underwater). Do you only use the LCD to focus?
Nice! We also snorkel...where were these taken?

The top and bottom ones were at Grand Cayman and the middle one is St Thomas. We did a cruise so we got to snorkel alot. Fun for sure. If you get a chance to go to Grand Cayman go to Stingray City ...was unreal.
Crazy...was there. In fact got married there. We loved stingray city and went twice. The second time got shots of us with the big stingray and a steeler hat on top! I used to have the sealife and now have a nikon aw110.

Best coral I think I have ever seen was there also. Great time!!
Be careful snorkeling is the pathway to strapping on a tank and blowing bubbles
Hey, Critter-Hunter...you still in Roatan? Im too chicken to go into the "DEEP". LOL! Got another Batfish in Belize =)
No, back home in Indiana waiting for a quick trip to Cozumel in Nov. then three weeks in the Philippines next. Jan.
It's been 15 years since I dove the waters of Belize, assume you went to Ambergris Caye. The Hol Chan Marine Reserve had some great shallow diving and snorkeling, I did it both day and night dives.

Maybe some day I will but being from the North East I would never dive here. I do like "the islands" though..:)

I'm in Indiana, I actually get motion sick when trying to snorkle. A dive leader in Maui once told me that the divers from the midwest are usually the most capable he deals with, because we are so used to diving with 0 visibility, dealing with cold, and sticking like glue to our buddies, (because we are so used to losing them in the low visibility) There are several quaries that have sunken airplanes and vehicles that you can find to at least make it more interesting.
Once you start strapping on a tank, you'll wonder why you ever waited.

What part of the Philippines do you plan to dive? I have done quite a bit of diving there. Most of it out of Davao.

I've dived Anilao, Dumaguete, Bohol, and Puerto Galera. Will travel to Cebu in Jan for 10 days liveaboard to the thrasher sharks and another 10 days on land based diving South end of Cebu.
Never made Davao because we heard the Muslims were a problem on that island. What can you tell me about the diving there

I lived in Davao for a couple of years and dove with the Carabao Dive Center quite often. There was never a problem with the Muslims there. It has been a couple of years since I dove with them. Actually, Cebu is more of a problem with thieves and the like than Davao. The mayor of Davao will not tolerate things like a lot of the other areas. Now the area to the south and west of Davao can be a problem. You also want to stay out of the Mati area. And of course Zamboanga provence where the Special Forces are operating. (My old unit). My wife is from the Philippines and she has family in Cebu.

I'm an old Recon Marine and operated North and West of Da Nang 68 / 69 will have to check out Davao, heard other divers talk about it.
