Is there a way to view RAW files without having to open them one at a time, ? I have been using RAW and JPEG in camera so I can see the RAW,s without opening 1 at a time, and now that I am getting more knowledge, I find that the JPEG is pretty useless unless posting on line!
ultimately I think what I am after is shoot in RAW, PP, and saw RAW and 1 in TIFF, then convert my TIFF to JPEG if I need to post!
I have light room but am not using it yet, still working with PSCC, hope to start using lightroom in a couple months!!
OR, I am over thinking this?

Buy Kelby's book on Lightroom and study your options. There should be no need to produce a TIFF of each image, as LR will always keep your original RAW file untouched. You only designate either TIFF or jpeg as a file when exporting a image, along with size, # of pixels, etc. The book explains all the choices clearly, and why to make each of them.

Lightroom or Bridge will let you see thumbnails of them all.

I shoot RAW with just a basic jpeg. The jpeg is only for quick view and sorting. The basic jpeg loads very quick and doesn't take up a lot of space on the card.

Lightroom is your answer, and as a bonus you won't need to save in tiff.

LR and PSCC work together to get the best and the most out of digital imaging.

RAW thumbnails are easily viewed in Windows Photo Viewer, so long as you have the properly upgraded Codec installed that covers your camera.

You have it backwards from most practice, do LR first, then go to PSCC or PSE.

I am working on learning LR, then moving on to PSE and then moving on to Paint Shop Pro because Corel Draw and Photo Paint were what I used for years to produce materials for the classroom.
