That is because more and more Youngsters are being raised in single parent homes, homes without a father, homes without a provider, homes living on the public dole. They are being indirectly trained to becoming Liberals with their hands out, and will vote for those that fill their hands. Sounds like the self defeating form of Government known as Socialism to me.

A cause or movement can not be won in a day, sometimes it takes decades. If it is to succeed the torch of activism whether it be conservative or liberal will need to be passed to the following generation. I am suggesting that the conservative cause has fewer youngsters picking up the torch than the liberal movement.

Speaking only for myself, I do not think anyone owes me anything in particular. What the dominant culture does owe, however, is an awareness of their crimes and respect for the victims of their crimes, and the victims ancestors. Ancestors who still suffer the effects of the crimes that were committed many generations ago. Awareness and respect is all I ask. Most Native people I know feel the same way.

We must be aware of our history, but not trapped by it. Eyes forward.

Very well said, and I wholeheartedly agree. I went to school in MN and was peppered by so many questions being from Florida about how prejudiced and racist people in the south were, I certainly did not feel that the reality was anything like the impression that they had of the south... But!, I was totally taken off guard when they started discussing Indians, the underlying hatred and tension between whites and Indians up there was worse than anything I had seen between blacks and whites in the south.... Personally I had little understanding of it because there were no large Indian communities where I lived, at least not large enough to be noticed, they were there but there was no strife that I had ever been aware of growing up in Miami.

I think that the Indian culture had many positive aspects, especially their reverence for nature.... There are other aspects that I am not so sure of but also not fully educated on such as their warring against each other.... There is little doubt that the Indians were badly mistreated by the US government, and if anyone can understand events like the trail of tears and not themselves feel some sort of outrage.... well then IMO they are heartless....

Having said all that, I don't feel that I owe your people anything other than the same respect that I would show anyone else and the acknowledgement that our government and our country in many ways has a dark past that we should not be afraid to acknowledge.

You conservatives are so funny. Just talking to yourselves and patting each other on the back about how smart you all think you are. You're really hysterical. But what is really the funniest is that you think you're right. You just crack me up. Have fun!

I may have misstated, I have never seen it any other way, I was referring to your heritage.

Fair enough. I think I over reacted. You have my apology.

I can be somewhat inartful with my language at times... no real apology needed... just wanted you to understand that there was no disrespect intended in what I said.

And you're as funny as a heart attack.

We may think we're right but YOU know your wrong and wallow in it.

If you had a brain, you'd be human instead of BO robots.

But coming from the land of fruits and nuts, as you do, it's so typical.

Speaking for myself I can respect that! That also came out in the Movie "America"! Many people in this country live with a heritage that suffered abuse. It will never end. Just look what is going on in the middle east right now in Iraq and Israel. I think your attitude is an honorable one.

I think you're spot on, except for them being conflicted because they are Christians. They pretend to be Christians, I'm an atheist and have more acceptance of change in this world. They feel they're safe as long as everyone in their lives look just like the person they see in the mirror. Delusional, yes. Christian, no way.

There goes stroke girl again. She stated in other forums that she has never attacked Christians on any of her posts. Then she starts again. She is an avowed atheist, but is also an expert on Christianity, of which she knows nothing. Stroke girl, why don't you just not respond to something you obviously know nothing about. Go out and play on the freeway with truckers or something else to take up your time.

So goes the saying if you don't believe in God you'll fall for anything!

I have never seen such christians as I've seen on this site, Coincidentally, they all seem to be veterans. Think of it. They are hateful, mean, and poor examples of human beings. Look at the likes of them. I have name called today, something I vowed not to do, I never want to be like them. Never. It seems to go hand in hand. My friends aren't like this at all, none of them. They are precious, they are loving. What would you do if a christian veteran told you that he wished you'd have a stroke? Does anyone deserve this? I am not a hard person but try to put that front on, I don't have the luxury here of everyone agreeing with me. There was a man stalking me here for what reason? Because I disagreed with him politically. He would follow me to comments I made on the photo side and bash me on other people's threads. I was so embarrassed. This man is a christian. Would you like that, Penny, would you really? I have been accused of a lot, just this morning of being a drinker. I can't touch alcohol, you know that.
I have never seen such christians as I've seen on ... (show quote)

Donna, I have been through the same stuff you have experienced. On a website one almost has to expect it. Many people can talk crazy because they are not face to face. That part is ashamed. Politics seem to bring out the worse in people because both sides are completely frustrated. I know many people who are incredibly nice both Christian and non-Christian until they are pushed to the limit. Then, all bets are off. Just remember some are Christian, but that doesn't mean perfect. We all sin and that is a fact. I wish that never would there be unkind words, but lets face it.....that will never happen due to human nature. As we have spoken privately I know you can't drink, so I ignore those and most comments.

Don't you EVER tell me what I can say. Who do you think you are? I don't care about veterans, the ones I've seen, mostly on here, are lacking in compassion, brains and are people I would never be friends with. Ask Cat, she thinks only the best educated go into the service. The ones I knew were poorly educated and stupid. I have two uncles who were lifers and fit that description, they lived in FL.

Amazing! You cannot tell Donna what she can say EVER!! Now Donna, who was once known on here as the Bitter Old Skank, can tell you what to say ALL THE TIME.! You see, she is more intelligent, better looking, and happier than all of us, but she is also filled with HATRED towards Christians, Jews, Conservatives, Soldiers, truckers, and anyone else who offends her senses. She is truly a hateful person. She will always remind you, though, that YOU are a hateful person, not her.

What point? They have no claim to the SW United States, that is an ignorant statement. They have no connection to conditions that were existent some 200 years ago anymore than I have a claim to Austria because of my Austrian heritage.... There is no claim, nor is there a claim of the American Indian, it is what it is, national borders have changed throughout history, only stupid Americans somehow believe that someone is owed something because something happened hundreds of years ago.... The indigenous people of this country were just as brutal as to each other as we were to them, history is just that history and nobody owes anybody anything because of what occurred 100's of years ago.

I'll second that! Nicely stated Blurry!
