I managed to score a new Tamron 150-600 lens for Nikon. I bought the lens just prior to going to the Airshow at Offut AFB in Omaha, Ne. Took it out of the box and placed it on camera and away I went. Forgot to shut off the vibration control while panning (rookie mistake). This show was a feast for the eyes. First time I saw the Blue Angels and they're amazing. The only thing about the lens that worries me is that some of the photos look like a painting and not real. I used a D7100 which I recently purchased and am still getting used to also. I'm pretty sure my banker is going to put an end to my GAS syndrome. Hope everyone enjoys the photos as much as I do.

Lens and camera are working fine. Nice shots. Airshows can be tough.

I love to shoot aircraft, and I too use a D7100 (great camera) Very good job on these, sharp and clear, nicely framed. Thanks for posting a different kind of BIF

Thanks for looking. I like the photo also but it doesn't look real.

I had a lot of photos I threw out because the focus was off a little. I think that might be because I left the vibration control on. I took over 1400 photos, mostly because I was panning.

I have a lot to get used to with the D7100. I think I will like the lens and camera combination. I love old aircraft but it's hard to get photos without people standing around them.

It looks very real to me. I have a brand new 7100 too, Not that long a lens. And I never thought about the anti-vibration factor and panning. will look it up.

Think how much better these B-17 shots would have been with the D7100 rather than a point and shoot!

Nice shots. You don't see too many P-38's around anymore. That must have been a treat.

As I read the instruction booklet I found where it said not to use the vibration control during panning. Makes sense. I would love to get to fly in a B-17.

It was a beautiful aircraft. I wish there had been a Mustang or some British aircraft there also.
