I have a nice one of these with caps, hood, bag and box for sale.
I priced it to sell at $750 paypal and shipping included.
I got smitten by the new version and caved in.
This is a super sharp lens even at 400 but as is common knowledge does focus a bit slow.
Depending on which body you use it can reasonably focus quicker.
If you are serious and want images of the actual lens I would be glad to provide those if you contact me by PM.
It still looks nice and I am proud to have it in my collection but having the new one it's time to part with it.

Although this lens has an old design, nothing that bothers me, it is an excellent performer. Yes, it is a little slow depending on the camera in use. I almost always when shooting wildlife with it limit the focus to make it more responsive since this lens uses the screw type AF which is considerably slower than the silent wave technologies.
I never had an issue with sharpness.
