Hi Larry. It is a pain some times. But they look so good when they are done. Just have to keep the tools as sharp as you can. Thanks for the kind words! Erv

Nice job, Erv. Teak is so hard, I know I wouldn't even attempt using it.
Thank you Jim. Get you a nice pocket knife and a piece of balsa wood and start playing. Even if it turns into a tooth pick, you will enjoy it. I have made a lot of tooth picks in my day. It makes Janny laugh when I bring one in the house made out of Walnut.:):) Erv

Beautiful piece, Erv. Wish I had the patience and the talent to do that.
Hi Bob. It is a hard wood. But it cuts and sands so pretty. I just use hand tools on my carvings. They were my Grandfathers from Germany. I just finished an Eagle a few weeks ago and Janny painted it for me this week. As soon as the paint gets dry I will get a few pictures. It was done with Walnut. Janny really out did her self on the painting this time. It was done off a picture and it looks just like the picture.:) Erv

I think of teak as being a very hard wood. I can not imagine the difficulty in carving this wood...do you also utilize power tools? Nice work!
Thank you Cyn!!!! I think I have sold 3 of them. Those were at one of Janny's craft shows.:):) And it was like pulling teeth. Everyone wanted to talk me down on the prices. So I just gave up.:):) I have been carving sense I was 5 years old.:):) Most of the time if folks come to the house and like one I just give it to them as a gift. That is if Janny doesn't want it. She has her favorite ones. She does all my painting and just finished what I think is my second to the best one I have done.. The paint is drying and as soon as I can take pictures I will post them.:) Probably under Eagle carving.:) Erv
