To be honest Bmac they both look ok to me but I would have cropped the childs head out at the bottom of the photo.Nice shot though.

A strong shot, fun and colorful and poignant. Of the two, I prefer the coloring in the first, seems more natural. Hard to light a scene like that perfectly with so much going on and the sun overhead, but your exposure looks pretty good regardless.

I like the depth of field you used in this one, too. The girl in the mid-ground's being slightly OOF helps set the mood of this. I think if you'd had her in tight focus, the shot would have lost something.

Nice!

I like them both, but the second makes the woman's skin look harsh.

I'd get the best of both worlds and mask out the skin; keeping the effect on the corn and clothing.

You are right about the coloring, it is more natural in the first. Regarding the exposure, I did have to selectively darken some hotspots to improve the photo. I liked the way the focus came out for the young girl, not wanting her sharp but dreamily blurred just enough for the idea of wishing to be young for the main subject to come through. That was the intent anyway. I had to shoot fast as the subject was rapidly walking by to get to her blanket.....and enjoy her corn.

Thanks for the critique Randy. 8-)

Thanks for the valid point and suggestion Hlmichel. The lighting at the time was terrible. 8-)

This photo is a real mixed bag of shells Bmac, it's like getting into a Ferrari and then smashing into a tree. #1 I like the color.

No. 1 is more natural for me Bmac.
It really tells a story and that to me is the important part.
Considering you were in contrasty light this candid is well done.
