What that definition does NOT tell you is that the STUDENT has to be the PURCHASER. I thought I could take advantage of this deal on Photoshop Lightroom 3.6 since my daughter is in school still. I bought it, but when I tried to register it, Adobe refused to issue me the KEY since it was bought with my credit card and not hers. She is 10 years old!!! Bottom line is, even with documentation being sent I was refused an activation key, but Adobe did refund my $49.95 sale purchase price.

The same holds true for Lightroom. Currently on Amazon for $299 with student/teacher edition selling for $89.

And according to Adobe:

"How many products can I buy?

You can purchase one license per platform of any Adobe Student and Teacher Edition product per year. Purchases of suite editions (such as Design Premium or Master Collection) are limited to one title per platform per year. Adobe Student and Teacher Edition products may be used only on your privately owned computer and may not be resold."

I'll be heading up to campus tomorrow for my student ID. This semester Lightroom; next semester Photoshop!!! :D

Sorry, MT that you had that issue, but that does not sound right as I have had numerous other reports saying that they had no issues once they faxed in copies of the student enrollment info as required.

Again, like stated in the article, you will need to contact Adobe first just to make doubly sure. All contact information is provided in that article.

I bought it directly through Adobe.com. It was a $49.95 introductory sale price that was too good to pass, or so I thought. Quite the catch22. If I had bought it through a third party site there would have been no problem, or so the Cust. Svc. Rep. told me. I will be happy with my Capture NX2 and Photoshop Pro X4, they get the job done for me anyway. I just put this out as a word of warning over Adobes fine print clauses.
