Hi, I took some pictures today and when I loaded them onto my computer some how some of the pictures didn't get transfer and I formatted my SD Card.
I know there is a Recovery Software. Does anyone ever use this and how does it work? What is the name of it?

Recuva from Piriform is one of the better ones. Works very easily and there is even a 'portable' version that can be run from a USB stick.

Sandisk and Lexar both offer their customers EXCELLENT recovery software for free. Download instructions are included with every purchase.

As long as you didn't take a picture after formatting it, the files are still there and can be recovered. I have done this once. When I did it, the file names were different so it took some time to sort things out, but all the files were recovered.

If you took pictures, then not all files can be recovered.

Image Rescue 4 (probably upgraded by now) A free download with the purchase of Lexar Card.

It has saved my butt several times. It has recovered ALL images ever taken on the card (unless it was full), even when later shots are taken.

The only draw back. It recovers them to the computer, not the card.

Try www.lexar.com/imagerescue4. Hope it works.

You can actually use "Ahsay software" for taking backup and recovery. I am using it from long time and really satisfied using this software. http://www.ahsay.com/jsp/en/home/index.jsp?pageContentKey=ahsay_products_overview
