I have an old friend that was part of a team that was hired to photo-Journal the building of the Arch. He has a picture of himself standing on the top of it the day they put the last section into place at the top. Currently the Arch Grounds are being redone so that visitors can walk from the "Old Courthouse" to the arch because they are covering Interstate 70. When completed the grounds will also have Gondolas which will go from the grounds, across the Mississippi into Illinois.
