Midge
The eyes have it
What a bee is after
Your midge is phenomenal! Great detail at f/10. Well done.
And the other two ain't bad either.
Yeah the second one I like best too. It seems very balanced where the bottom is a bit bright for my eyes. Love the color anyhow and perception is amazing.
After viewing all three images again, my only recommendation is to crop the two insects a bit close to eliminate excess background brightness, and crop the flower pistil much closer, as it should dominate your image.
With your permission, I will crop all three, as a demo.
Beautiful job....1 and 2 are my favs!
I would be so thrilled to capture shots like this!!! they are awesome!!!!
You did a fine job Alann. I don't know much about macro-photography. Most of the pictures in macro are awesome to me.
Excellent eye shot - I'm assuming the yellow dots are pollen?
Oh, and let Nikonian show you what he means - his macros are ALL awesome!
Thanks all. To be honest, if I wanted closer crops I would have shot with a MPe-65. :)

I give up! What kind of insect is in the second picture, the one with the elaborate eyes.

The antennae indicate that it is a variety of fly.

I thought so, but have never seen eyes colored like that.
I guess I've never been close enough to notice, on a house fly.
