These are two photographs of the Eastern American Toad taken at the Clarke Botanic Garden in Albertson, New York. Despite a hard winter, these toads seem to be proliferating at this location.
The images are more about the creature being able to blend into it's environment rather than the toad itself. So a stopped down aperture was purposely used and no attempt was made to separate the subject from the background.

Settings for both pictures were: ISO 200, 105mm, f/18, 1/80 sec w/flash
