When colour shots don't have the impact

I visited the Royal International Air Tattoo ( RIAT ) on Sunday but the weather didn't play fair. It was mostly grey clouds with a couple of showers. Did brighten up late afternoon though maybe too late.

After looking at a few shots in colour I thought they lacked any impact so had a play in PS and converted them to B&W.

I hope you like the results, I know I do :)

this is a great transformation! No need for color, the clouds are dramatic in B&W

Thank you for your comments, I did a little dodge and burn to help the clouds out as there wasn't a lot of detail due to pushing the exposure to brighten the planes.

Looks like they were shot in the "40's" when those air craft were in their prime. Very nice.

Great shots Izza1967!

I grew up watching old B&W movies about WWII, so when I picture the air bases in England, I tend to "see" them in B&W. This series of images you captured brings back a lot of old memories. Thanks!

I take pictures for myself mainly but if someone else gets pleasure from them it's even better, so thanks for looking and commenting
