Own a d300. There is no Dummies for D300 book. But, I see Dummies for D300s.

Close enough?

Pls advise.

Thanks

Look for a book on your camera by David Busch.

http://www.amazon.com/David-Buschs-Nikon-Digital-Photography/dp/1598635344/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405348049&sr=8-1&keywords=David+Busch+%2B+d300%27

Much more informative that the dummies book, 'cause you're not a dummy, right?

How about lightening up once in a while? This is a forum where people ask questions and it seems all you ever do is tell them to go look somewhere else.

Yes, in answer to your question, it is close enough. I believe the differences will primarily be in the video category, and maybe the specs. As for operation, even a D-200 for dummies book would help you out.

Don't be put off by the "Dummy" in the name. That series of manuals is very informative, comprehensive and complete. A bonus is that the material is seldom dry and is presented so that everyone from a novice to a professional can benefit. But, that being said, I prefer the "Magic Lantern" series for advanced information, even though it is a bit dry.
