Wibaux Mt. Car Show
This little town of about 200 people, had their 4th Annual car show. Drove over there with a friend and entered his car (69 Dodge Coronet). There was 50 cars entered, and only 2 were trailered. The Hippy Van is owned by a old machinist friend, his wife and daughter dress up and go to car shows with him. The old Hustlers Car on the trailer was just found when a retired farmer called a member of the car club, saying he was selling the farm, and if you want this car, come and get it. It's been rebuilt by the original club members.

DAMN! I used to race against that '55 Chevy at Glendive, he always beat me too! That was one fast old shoebox and my '63 Impala SS was just to heavy to put him away heads up, but I did get him in a few bracket races back in the 70's. Nice to see its still in driveable condition!
Thanks for looking Shooter. The guy that built the original engine ,rebuilt the one in her now. The transmission builder just moved to Billings last week, know him well. It's like you said, nice to see there is a few survivors out there. Look on the Hustlers drag races on U-tube and you might see your old car on there. They have alot of the old races on there from Glendive & Lewistown.

Very nice set! I use to drag a 69 R/S Camero. But I must be getting old, I like the van.:):)
Erv :)
I know what you mean Erv, I was content too with the van, until: they started that Hustlers car up-the adrenaline started to flow again. Nothing like the sound of a Big Block -full race cam- header pipes, and the smell of that racing fuel. Just brings back the old memories............

I hate to burst your bubble, but the old Hustler has a small block in it. I am sure you have more pics that show the engine better though.
I think your right, I'm not sure what it had for a engine. I always thought it had a 389 or a 409. Here is another picture, maybe you can tell what it is. (327 maybe) There was a guy from Billings (Howie) driving that red Nova SS behind the engine pic- He definetly was burning more then gas.

Noway to tell the displacement externally. Chevy small blocks went from 265 cid all the way to 400 cid from the factory. D-Gas from the era would usually mean a 327 cid, but boring and stroking could make a lot more cubes. I ran a 327 cid in SS class that was actually 331 cid.
Thanks for looking HP-----
