Settings: ISO 100, 105mm, f/7.1, 1/60 sec w/flash

I am interested in which format for this photograph you prefer?

Vertical, but it seems the magnification is different in each shot, so not really fair.

I like the both Bmac but my preference is the first one.Great shots.

Nice shots Bmac. You might want to get a little closer and close down the shutter to f/16.

I prefer the vertical shot as the composition is more pleasing to me.

Thanks for responding EBRunner. Yes, the vertical is more magnified than the horizontal. 8-)

Fielder's choice on this one. Both are really nice shots. I prefer the horizontal as it puts the fly in its environment, gives the shot some context.

But the portrait shot (vertical) is also quite good (if you like flies, of course...). No reason not to print out both.

I prefer the vertical ...the closer image draws the eyes upwards towards the fly's next destination. Great detail!
