Little Bird... Grey, Black, and White What?? (Woodpecker??)
Could someone ID this cute little feller? He came around for about an hour posing for the camera. The only reason I thought woodpecker was his crazy pointy beak.
He was shot with a Sony A700 w/ Sony 70-400mm G Lens

I get so much joy in watching and shooting these little guys... and every once in a while, I'm visited by a magestic female Red Tailed hawk that has at least a 5' wing span. If only she'd stay still and pose!

Technically the nuthatches are members of the woodpecker family. I love these friendly little birds! Many members of the woodpecker family visit my feeders daily. Including a pileated!
Nice pictures of the nuthatch. Sometimes it's the little things that give the best reward.

The nuthatch is one of only a handful of birds in the world that will travel down the tree trunk head first. Cute little birds!!
