No, Bush didn't cause the hurricane, that's ridiculous but he ignored it for a long time. Everyone else was glued to their tv's but Bush didn't seem to know anything about it.

that would be rather fitting since President Obama stated that he personally learned about all the "Phony Scandals " from watching Fox news.

My my my how you leftists twist and distort the truth when Bush couldn't bring the national guard in till the governor requested it. Since Gov Blanco couldn't handle it, Bush wasn't allowed to send in the Nat Guard. Blanco's top aides relied on ad hoc tutorials from the National Guard about who would be in charge and how to call in federal help. But in the inevitable confusion of fast-moving events, partisan differences and federal/state divisions prevented top leaders from cooperating.

dljen... that comment above has been debunked so many times it is ridiculous that you even have it in your data banks... So many times this type of "comments" are placed here that it only bolsters the knowledge that no matter what the truth about President Bush, it will be falsified..... And conversely no matter what the truth of Obama's failings, they will be covered up...

With Katrina and the Federal government what was exposed was the inherent problem with outsourcing, or privatizing some of FEMA's work load; the private companies chosen simply weren't up to the task. Also, the political appointee chosen by the Bush administration to head FEMA proved to be a poor choice... not that running any government agency is ever a good career move if one is hoping to win a popularity contest in the future.

The current border situation has been coming on for years, even before this administration took office. It is going to take cooperation between all branches of government to start working toward solutions. Personally, I think all members of congress and any who might be of a position to affect positive change should be required to visit the border, the holding areas, the children etc. to get to know the problem(s) up close and personal. The most important thing is to fix this. Period.

I agree with your overall opinion.... but didn't some Congressmen try to go and were refused entrance? Seems I read that somewhere... Also, I also read last night where Senator McCain got into a pretty heated verbal battle with who ever was the cause of the refusal...

When it comes to arriving at political posturing I don't think any conclusion is arrived at in a straight line. This crap has to stop. Obama ain't running for anything again, neither is W. What we have is human suffering going on. It is a damn shame. Our elected leaders need to stop, yelling, grandstanding, or politicizing whatever (what is done is done) and fix this.

Is this still a photographic forum, or has it been changed to a political debate forum?
