help with shutter speed

True confession: I only know how to use aperture on my Olympus OMD 10. what settings in "S" should i use so I can hand hold and take a photo?

On this photo,,,, 1 to 3 secs and on a tripod... If no moon present, then about 20 seconds to get much of anything. Always use a tripod for night shots.

A good 'starting point' for a hand-held shutter speed is to use the 1/focal length of your lens as a guide. If you're using a 50mm lens, then use 1/50 shutter speed (or closest speed). Use the longest focal length for a zoom lens. That is, with a 70-300 zoom, use 1/300 shutter speed.
