I just upgraded from a Nikon D70 with a 28-200 lens to a Nikon D90 with two lenses, a 18-105 and a 55-300 lens. I thought this would be easy since the bodies are very similar. Boy was I wrong, it's all in the lens. I am still experimenting with my new camera or should I say lenses. I'm standing close and far away from my subject to get the right frame. Changing lenses in the field is no fun, frustrating but I'll get it.

You will grow into both of them. I have found that every new lens I get has a learning curve. I got a 28-300 this last spring after reading how great it was. We had a trip plan to Oregon In June so I wanted to get it to play with before we left. I am glad I did. It took me about 2-3 weeks before I was getting the sharp pictures that I read about.
Have fun with your new toys. And i am sure you will get use to them.

There is an old saying that goes.... My worse fear is when I die that my wife doesn't sell all my stuff for what I told her I paid for it. :-D

I just hope when I'm dead that I won't have to listen to what she has to say when she puts in all in one place and realizes just how much stuff I have. I don't know it may be part of my pentence.

silly questionm, but do you change lenses with the sensor facing the floor? or in your car? protected enviornment?
I did it outdoors ONCE and got some indescribable subtance on my sensor, took 20 minutes of painstaking delicate cleaning to get the sensor clean.

So, we can assume you no longer have the D70 or the 28-200 zoom? I just love having a second body with another lens, ready to shoot.

I'm very careful about changing lenses but it's the idea of changing lenses that's new to me. Thanks for the response.

I'm not familiar with Nikon lens removal. Is a Nikon more difficult to change? Or, rather, does Canon make lens changing easier because us Canonites need all the help we can get?
